GDXlib is a graphical X tool kit for creating graphical user interfaces (GUIs). It works on many UNIX and UNIX-like platforms.

Currently I'm using GDXlib to rewrite my Genealogy GEDCOM Tools package with a smaller, faster interface.

The goal of GDXlib is to make programming and development of GUIs simple and fast. Simple enough that almost anyone can easily learn to use the tool kit. The tool kit was written to satisfy my need to program faster than I could with GTK. To keep programming simple, GDXlib is a C-based architecture.

GDXlib is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL), which allows for flexible licensing of client applications. This license alows development of proprietary software, without any license fees or royalties. See license.txt

GDXlib is not color safe. If your display is 256 colors or set to the depth of less than 24, many windows will display colors incorrectly.
